On Friday, August 4th at 6 pm, the ICC Crossroads program hosted an interactive Coping & Resiliency Workshop for teens. Participants shared their reactions, thoughts and feelings to recent events and discussed various ways to support themselves, their peers and the community. Participants were taught about the grief and fear cycle, how to practice coping skills and how to advocate for themselves and their peers. At the end of the workshop, participants took part in a social awareness activity that included SSL hours, which explored various methods of asking for help, education about the grief cycle and an introduction to coping skills. Community mental health and emergency resources were also provided to participants.
