Youth Against Hunger & National Day of Service: Sat, Jan 19, 2013

  • ,

In honor of the President’s National Day of Service, ICC organized  a community service project–Youth Against Hunger.

The Youth Against Hunger is a regular program of ICC that brings diverse communities together to make sandwiches for the homeless and to raise awareness on the importance of helping the needy.  We are grateful to our 90 hard-working participants who helped make this day of service a success.  Our speakers addressed the importance of charity from the Abrahamic traditions.

Montgomery County Media covered our event!  Click here to view.

With the help of 90 volunteers from the DC metro area, we made 826 sandwiches and 100 pounds of vegetables for delivery to  9 local shelters.

Our young volunteers made beautiful posters which were donated to each of the above shelters.
